Meet Caro and her critters
Hi, I’m Carolyn (a.k.a. Caro) – owner and CDWO (Chief Dog Walking Officer) of Caro and the Critters. Welcome to the pack!
I genuinely love connecting with animals, and am the person at parties who you find sitting on the ground making BFFs with whatever furry creatures live in the house. I grew up with cats and dogs, spent a year as a professional dog walker in Washington DC, and have a five-star rating and “Star Sitter” status on Rover. I’ve also successfully completed the Cat and Dog First Aid Training course from the American Red Cross.
My husband and I have 2 big goofball pitties named Hank and Bear, who came to us from Detroit Animal Care and Control in 2019. As with many rescue pets, they arrived pre-loaded with reactivities, anxieties, and other behavioral quirks that have taken a lot of care, patience, and empathy to work through. We’ve relied on the partnership of our dog sitters in helping train and socialize our pups and making sure they’re comfortable while we’re away – so I truly know the value of building trusting relationships with both pets and their owners.
I started Caro and the Critters because I believe every pet deserves to be safe and well cared for while their owners are away. My priority is giving your furry crew the same level of care, comfort, and enrichment I provide for my own – making sure they have a great time, every time.
